We have been blessed with a very good baby. Little June Bug never cries just to cry – there is always a reason, and it’s usually because she is hungry. I wonder where in the world she gets her appetite . The nightmarish stories we hear of colicky babies is something we haven’t had to experience. And I’m happy to report, last night was the second night in a row she slept through the night! She’s been in her crib since week 2, and the duration of sleep has gotten better and better every night. Last night she slept from 10:40-5:40…pretty impressive for a 1-month old!
I had mentioned in an earlier post that Emmy had her first pictures taken when she was 4 days old. They were taken by my friend photographer, Sean Randall. He really did a wonderful job at capturing our baby’s disposition at such a young age. Emmy didn’t love having her photos taken, and expressed her anger by tee-teeing on the black velvet backdrop – nice work Emerson! Sean also took some shots with me and my mother in them. Emmy was very sweet and gave her daddy one of the pics framed for Father’s Day. To take a look at the proofs, follow the below link and instructions:

In other news, the Bug has started smiling when something really makes her happy (and not just the in-her-sleep, I-have-gas type). This started happening at around 3 weeks. We don’t get them too often yet, but when we do, it warms our hearts like nothing else. I can’t wait until it is a more frequent thing because it’s the best feeling in the world to see that she is happy.
Emmy has also made a couple trips to the pool. She likes to sleep in her little cabana, or under the umbrella on me, but isn’t thrilled about the water just yet. We’ll give her a few weeks!
I’ve posted below some newer pics, including some from her visit with Grandpa, Nanny and Mom-mom. You'll notice in one she is sucking her thumb, which is happening more and more these days. Emmy’s great grandmother made the trip from Florida just to meet her. It was really neat to see the two together. Mom-mom knew exactly what to do, and took charge when she held her. It makes me a little sad to think how my grandfather just missed meeting her, but I know he’s looking down and is very proud of her. Maybe there’s even a little piece of him in her. Pop-pop was a feisty one, and I can definitely see a little of that in Emmy!
I also posted a photograph of Drew as a baby – the one with the plaid highchair. Emmy looks so much like him, and it’s very apparent after seeing this picture. From the widow’s peak, to the color hair, the nose, mouth, chin and ears. The jury is still out on her eyes though. She may have my eyes; we’ll just have to wait and see.
Emmy truly has enriched our lives. I certainly remember what I did with my time before, but it’s hard to imagine ever going back to that. This beautiful little person rules the Webb house, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

YAY!! An update. I've been wondering on how you guys were doing. We'll have to make it down there soon....let us know when you are ready for a grill out! :o)
I forgot to tell you how PRECIOUS she is! You have definitely lucked out...sleeping all through the night at 4 weeks old...I'm so jealous!
